Spider-Man: No Way Home Ticket Rush Crashes AMC, Fandango’s Websites

Spider-Man: No Way Home crashes sites everywhere.

Marvel and MCU fans may recall that the Avengers: Endgame tickets released made a huge issue on movie ticket sites across the US in 2019. It sounds like Spider-Man: No way home did the exact same thing on Sunday night, with fans online claiming both AMC and Fandango were down due to demand.

As of Monday morning, the AMC, Atom, Fandango, Cinemark and Alamo Drafthouse sites all appeared to be operational again.

The release of a TVN could be partly to blame. Earlier sunday AMC announced that the first 86,000 “AMC Stubs A-List, Premiere, or Investor Connect members” who purchased or booked tickets to a Spider-Man screening on December 16 would receive an “green” Spider-Man NFT for their troubles. It’s hard to say if this impacted the downgrade of the AMC site, but it probably didn’t help. AMC and Fandango did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Beyond AMC, demand for Spider-Man: No Way Home tickets seemed to affect nearly all of the pre-order services available – people reported that sites like Drafthouse were struggling as well.
