New Indian Burger Restaurants in Albany

ALBANY – An Indian restaurant and quick-serve burger concept are recent additions to the city’s dining scene, located a few blocks from each other.

The Mughal Palace has been open for a few weeks at 138 Washington Ave. The basement location, opposite the Alb any history and art institute, previously housed The French Press Cafe & Creperie, having moved from the city center and, from 2014 to 2016, The Grid at 138.

Mughal Palace’s $ 11.99 lunch buffet is available from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm on weekdays; the large full menu is served from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends. Delivery is available through Uber Eats and DoorDash. Call 518-426-1317 for take out orders.

Herbie’s Burgers, the next business from the owners of the Lark Street Post wine bar, is expanding across the street from Post at 196 Lark, the former home of Frankie’s and Cantor’s delis.

An opening at the end of September is planned. The small menu includes beef and vegan cheeseburgers, fries, regular and vegan shakes, and soft drinks. Hours of operation will be 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily for counter service with catering tables, take-out and delivery through popular apps and an internal online ordering system. The owners are Noah Bondy, Craig Dutra, Nick Warchol and Aaron Wilson.
