Millie Bright has signed a new contract with Chelsea for a further three years which will see her spend more than a decade with the club.

After the summer of a lifetime which brought home the European Championship trophy for England, the Blues vice-captain has signed a new contract to extend his stay at the club for another three years and continue his career. reigns as Chelsea Women’s oldest player.

Our No.4 signed in 2014 from Doncaster Rovers Belles and has enjoyed an illustrious career so far with the Blues, helping to win our 13 major trophies. Impressively, Bright have become six-time English champions, four-time FA Cup winners and also have two Continental Cups and a Community Shield to their name.

The Blues defender has also been twice named in the PFA Team of the Year and in the FIFPro Women’s World 11.

An experienced international with 58 England senior caps to her name, the 28-year-old also gave a defensive masterclass at the Euro 2022 tournament this summer.

From the six games, Bright quickly became a household name across the country with the Lionesses and was notably named player of the match in the quarter-final against Spain.

The 28-year-old was delighted to share the news with Blues fans, commenting: “Chelsea, the fans, the club, the people. Thank you for all your support so far.

Commenting on Bright’s extension with the club, chief executive Paul Green said: “We are absolutely delighted that Millie has signed a new contract.

“Millie remains our longest serving player and her time with us has been key to our success. The way she leads on and off the pitch is second to none and we are proud of how far she has come and all her achievements, including her latest Euro win which was a proud moment for the club.

Bright is currently enjoying a well-deserved break from the summer tournament and will join his Chelsea team-mates in traveling to Portland for the US tour.
