The [email protected] boxes of restaurant-quality food, complete with tips from co-owner Mark Owens on how to prepare the food, were a big hit.

“The clubs opened up a new market for us of people who hadn’t come to us before,” the chief boss told YEP. “It was a necessity to stay alive, but it had the great advantage of showing people what we could do.”

Alongside her appearance on Great British Menu, Liz and Mark are busy planning a restaurant’s move to a new location in Kirkgate, to be announced later this year.

Confirming her appearance on the long-running show, HOME said in a statement.

“The theme which is ‘celebrating the last 100 years of British broadcasting’ has really caught her imagination and allowed her to get very creative with her dishes. We are very excited to see how she pulls it off.

“The dishes will appear on the menu alongside many other dishes we have developed and we are hosting a very special event where you will have the chance to taste them.”

HOME is also planning a secret culinary event that will allow guests to sample dishes from the show, as well as others she has created following an inspirational trip to Scotland.

The event, which will take place on February 23, will be a ten-course menu with matching wines hosted by Elizabeth herself, and costs £110.

It’s the latest in a series of exciting new ventures for the gourmet restaurant, based in Leeds Dock, which also opens on Friday lunchtimes from March 6.
