BINGHAMTON, NY – The Binghamton Rumble Ponies have just claimed their 7th series loss of the season, their latest on the road at the hands of the Altoona Curve.
Seeking redemption, the ponies returned home on Tuesday night for the start of a 6-game home stand.
And with them came their most recent addition to the squad, former 12th draft pick Brett Baty.
Baty made his Double-A debut last week while the team was at Altoona.
In his first streak since his promotion, Baty went 4 for 20 with a brace and a run scored, the last two coming in his debut.
Heading to his house showing when he will give Binghamton fans their first glimpse, Baty gave a glimpse of what they can expect from his game.
âI’ll just play my own game. I’ll just do it myself. I’m not going to try to get too fat. Try to see the ball a little slower, like I said, and just play some solid defense there. So I’m trying to be a solid player for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, âhe said.
In his first appearance at Mirabito Stadium, Baty worked in the outfield as a starting left fielder and was placed in the clean-up slot in batting order.
