- Ashish Nehra was the head coach of the IPL champions
- Nehra revealed the secret behind him always carrying a paper with him
Nehra’s success as a coach has been one of the main talking points of the 2022 IPL season. The former Indian pacemaker was spotted carrying a piece of paper and a pen everywhere with him, unlike the other coaches at the tournament who used to sit in front of laptops and tablets. Nehra being constantly photographed with a paper in her hand near the dugout has also been the subject of hilarious memes on the internet.

While many wondered exactly what Nehra used to write on the paper, the GT head coach broke his silence and said he doesn’t know why it got so big. He hilariously revealed that he didn’t write anything significant on it and it was just to get the team training menu.
“There was nothing on the paper. I don’t know why everyone thinks there was anything important on the paper. Paper pe sirf menu tha ki practice pe hamaara menu kya hoga (he doesn’t was just the menu for our workout),” Nehra said in an interaction on Cricbuzz.
“I’m not a great coach. Just like you, I was also a spectator sitting outside. When the team wins, you talk about all these things. All coaches work hard and sometimes you get the results. Our first year at Gujarat Titans was really good and we are happy,” he added.
